The Foundation for Moral Development

The Foundation for Moral Development provides valuable services to the community by assisting African American and Hispanic women in reaching their full potential. We are aware that individuals in every stage of their lives face some very challenging situations which require them to make life-changing decisions; with this in mind The Foundation for Moral Development provides services to African American and Hispanic singles, single parents and married couples that include:

Career Planning: Whether seeking change, direction, advancement, or pursuing a whole new venture, we provide each client with the tools necessary to make informed decisions.

Counseling: We will identify areas within the lives of the African American and Hispanic community that may need adjustment and assist them with a plan for improvement. We will provide the tools, structure and personal support every step of the way and can guide them to discover and use their strengths, talents and assets.

Mentoring Children: We realize how important it is for a child to have a positive role model in their lives. We hope to build healthy mentoring relationships with the children of the community to encourage them to look toward the future and plan their careers.

Tutoring: The Tutorial Program is an educational enrichment program for low-income families.  At the tutoring centers students who will work with their tutors to build skills in reading and math, complete their homework, and strengthen their sense of self-esteem and self-respect.

Goal Setting: Statistics show that only 3% of Americans have written goals. We hope to change all of that by educating the community on how important it is to set short-term and long-term goals for their lives and their families in order to achieve their lifetime dreams and move ahead in society.

Resume Writing: A poorly written resume will keep any qualified person from getting the job they want. Every resume is a one-of-a-kind marketing communication and should be written to suit the applicant’s situation and do exactly what they want it to do-get the reader’s attention and ultimately get them in the door for a job interview. We will provide resume-writing workshops to help attendees become properly prepared to apply for the job they want.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are a necessity for anyone who wants to move ahead in life. Thus, your ability to achieve success, whether it's in your relationships, school, career, or business, depends highly on your ability to communicate effectively. Through education and training we will provide the knowledge needed to be able to effectively communicate to individuals at every economic level and speak with poise and confidence with anyone at any level.
